Class Info

Robin is available for custom classes at your location. Minimum class size is 10 (extra fee per person for smaller classes). Traveling expenses may be required for distances greater than 30 miles from Portland.

Collage Quilting the Laura Heine way does not require a sewing machine. You will be using a ruler, scissors, iron, and other supplies.

You are welcome to use most any of Laura Heine’s patterns & kits or you can purchase one of Robin’s kits at Happy Valley Mercantile. Note: All kits brought to class must be pre-approved by Robin. Please contact me for more details about custom classes.

Collage Quilt Class vs Quilting Retreat

A Laura Heine style collage CLASS is usually held at a local quilt shop or meeting hall.

Note: You are much more likely to finish your project at a retreat vs a class.

A quilting retreat is held at a fun destination. The day of arrival we have an evening party with Hors d’oeuvres, games & prizes. Unlike a class held at a quilting shop, you are free to stay late and work on your project. Since you will be staying overnight you can walk to your room anytime you want and you don’t have to drive home. Meals are also provided along with a take home goodie bag. I also offer collage kits at a discounted price to all my attendees. Many attendees bring their spouse. Spouses usually find other things to do while you are in class.
